Praise the Lord!

The Original United Pentecostal Church of Strathmore has once again proved their love, dedication, and generosity to the Lord and IMPACT Youth. Sunday, May 31st, was our annual pie and cake auction to help send  young people to summer camp. In addition, this year there was a special cake auctioned off to help a home missionary with some financial burdens and send their young people to camp as well.  In a period of about an hour or so we had raised about $3,000 for the home missionary and about $5,000 for our own youth group. It is such a blessing to give to the work of the Lord.

Bro. Isaac

Thank you Bro. Isaac for sharing your testimony with us! Bro. Isaac is a young man that became part of the UPC Strathmore family several months ago. During that time Bro. Issac has blessed us in song, ministered with the IMPACT youth team, arrived at Sunday School as "Bro. Sunday School", and serves as the drum player. UPC Strathmore is certainly blessed that Isaac, Karina, and the Romero family joined our church family.

Bro. Angel

Strathmore UPC was in for a special treat at Thursday’s Youth Service. Bro. Angel delivered an anointed personal testimony that resounded with admiration for God, a desire to work in His service, and reflection upon his own choices and the consequences of following them. Bro. Angel shared that he was brought up in the Catholic Church but felt that there was more of God for him. Originally Angel attended our services several years ago with a friend but drifted away. However, as he shared on Thursday night, those were his choices and God never stopped pulling at his heart to return. Bro. Angel is a blessing in church, a powerful member of the IMPACT Drama Team, ChloĆ«’s boyfriend, and the smile J in the crowd. Strathmore UPC is better because of Bro. Angel!

Youth Easter Presentation

The IMPACT Youth Department blessed the congregation immensely Easter Sunday with their interpretation of, "My Reedemer Lives." Shaylyn, Alyssa, Sarana, Korina, Justin, Colten, Kyle, Jessica, Isaac, Angel, and CJ, while directed by Bro. Steve, ministered to us in a special way. You guys were great. I, along with others in attendance, will never hear this song again without pondering all the minute details of life. Who taught the sun where to stand in the morning? Who told the ocean it could only come this far? Who told the moon where to hide till evening? Whose words alone can catch a falling star? The beauty of those questions is that they each prove that our Lord and Savior lives! Thank you for your time and dedication, we were blessed because of it.

Little Hands of Praise debuted Easter morning at The Original United Pentecostal Church of Strathmore. This special group of junior youth worked hard learning the sign language and presenting, “Because of Who You Are,” under the direction of Bro. Josh. Not only was the group extremely adorable, they presented an anointed message to the congregation as they worshipped their risen savior. No wonder the Bible teaches to come to Jesus as little children. These young people love God and are an example to all in their worship. Skylar, Kaitlyn, Brannon, & Tony- Keep it up. You were a tremedous blessing to us.

Alive and Well

IMPACT youth is alive and well in spite of the fact that we were exposed to infectious diseases Thursday night during youth service! Bro. Steve and Bro. Josh did an excellent job of reminding us that we are infecting someone constantly with something. We have the choice to be using that influence positively or negatively.
Youth Service is always a fun event that has real life applications that touches the hearts of all.

Sweetheart Banquet

Thursday, 2-23-09, IMPACT Youth hosted a Sweetheart Banquet for the congregation of The Original United Pentecostal Church of Strathmore. A fun evening of food and fellowship was geared toward reminding us of the sweetheart that we all have and His unending love for us. However, during the evening we also learned some interesting items about some of our elders and how well they know their earthly sweethearts! None of us were suprised though to hear that our Pastor's dream job would be to own a car-lot (who would have guessed?) Thank you adults for your continued support and dedication to IMPACT Youth, you are appreciated.
